I Can't Live Without My...

The one item I can’t live without is my favorite pair of Rag & Bone classic black leather Newbury booties. Besides the fact that they are the most comfortable shoes in the world, they are chic and go with almost anything. If you are looking to dress something up or down, these Newbury booties are your go to. You can pair them with anything from your favorite jeans to your favorite pair of leather pants.

I Can't Live Without My ...

In the world of fashion, we are exposed to an endless supply of trends and style options that change seasonally; yet I’m sure we all swing back to at least one piece we can’t seem to get enough of all year around! These are called timeless pieces for a reason because no matter the season, your look will always appear up to date.

The one garment I can’t live without is what I call my “All-American” staple, my AG mid-rise jegging. It goes with everything, obviously. But I love that it gives me a comfortable and sophisticated look, without appearing too casual. The dark hardware and stitching deliver the sleek and simple look that I can’t get enough of! Dressing it up with colorful heels or my favorite statement accessories can make a great pair of jeans a flexible choice for any occasion.

Looks We Love: Pretty Little Liars

The hit drama series Pretty Little Liars has been the talk of the century ever since its pilot episode. The show is centered on four “pretty little liars” who attempt to solve the murder case of their best friend. Pretty Little Liars contains drama, mystery, and most importantly, style! This show stood out to me because not only am I a huge fan, but their style and fashion sense caught my eye.  Each character in the show has a distinct style which embodies their different personalities.

Let’s start with Aria Montgomery. Aria is well-traveled, sophisticated, and mature. Her style portrays a vintage, eclectic look that consists of layering, mixing patterns, and dark natural colors.

If you want to embrace Aria's look this fall, Joy Han has great bohemian cardigans for this season. Nothing says fall like neutral colors!

Next we have Spencer Hastings. Spencer is the brain of the group. She grew up in a wealthy, east coast family with the pressures of going to an Ivy League school after graduation. Her preppy, boyish look manifests her country club lifestyle and the daughter of a successful lawyer. Spencer is always polished with her blazers, cuffed pants, and a nice pair of oxfords.

When you think of Spencer, you think classy. Nothing says classy like black and white! This black and white printed romper from the Jay Godfrey collection could be accessorized with a colored blazer and oxfords.

Hanna Marin is known as the Queen Bee. Before her friend disappeared, she used to be the chubby girl. As time passed, she lost all her weight and blossomed into the Queen Bee. She is the definition of popular but she is not considered to be one of the stuck up types. Her style illustrates the girly, glamorous look with a lot of jewelry, heels, and bright colors.

This piece from the Single collection truly embodies Hanna's style. The floral top portrays the feminine look and you could wear colored pants to make the outfit pop even more. Hanna's outfits make a loud statement with bright colors.

Last but not least, we have Emily Fields. Emily is the jock of the fantastic four. She holds the best record on her swim team and not to mention she has a girlfriend, Paige. Her style is very sporty and comfortable. Her wardrobe consists of jeans, a simple sports jacket, and boots.

For all our sporty girls out there! This sweater tank from the Hard Tail collection fits Emily's sporty, comfortable style. It can be worn with dark colored pants, boots, and a leather jacket or a denim button up. Emily's style is comfortable, sporty, and simple.

You can catch these stylish little liars on Tuesday nights on ABC Family!

Cannes 2014: Winners and Sinners

Cannes Winners & Sinners

For many reasons, the month of May is one of our favorite months -- Memorial Day weekend, backyard BBQs, and the red carpet glamour of the Cannes Film Festival!

The Cannes Film Festival is basically a stretched out, 11 day Oscars and with that brings some fashion highs and definitely some fashion lows (we like to celebrate both of them!) Here are some of our 2014 favorites:

Winner:  Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive
I am in love with Nicole’s choice of dress for the Opening Ceremony of the 67th Cannes Film Festival and premiere of her latest movie, ‘Grace of Monaco.’  This strapless gown intentionally draws our eyes to Nicole. The blue fabrics and silver embellishments flatter her features so well. Having been to the Cannes Film Festival two years ago, I know from experience how gracefully Nicole presents herself on the red carpet. This gown delivers a bold statement while still preserving that princess touch.
-Danielle Gumina

Sinner:  Elaina Lenina
It is a mystery to me as to who designed her shocking ensemble, not to mention who on Earth came up with the Christmas ornament-like accessory and Cindy Lou Who hair. Is it just me, or does she literally look like she came off the set of the Grinch sequel?? Maybe whoever was the creative mind behind this chose to be anonymous for a reason. Despite committing the obvious sin, Russian star Elaina Lenina probably thought it was worth the trouble. After all, she captured plenty of attention. Although her hair and accessories are the most frightening of all, I have to say her dress looks pretty comfortable for a red carpet look... Sorry Elaina, you still committed a terrible sin.

Winner:  Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Gucci
Rosie Huntington-Whitley is one of those envy-inducing women who I think could make a burlap sack look like the next big thing in couture.  But luckily for those of us fashion voyeurs, she happens to have amazing taste.  I’ve rarely seen her misstep on the red carpet.  She doesn’t disappoint in this liquidy metallic Gucci gown.  Perfection.
-Lauren Stillman

Sinner: Tatiana-Laurens Delarue
Oh my.  Apparently Tatiana-Laurens Delarue doesn’t have any true friends.  Because it appears that no one was around to tell her that just because you CAN, doesn’t mean you SHOULD.
-Lauren Stillman

Winner:  Blake Lively in Gucci Premiere
Blake Lively’s Gucci Premiere look on the Red Carpet makes me love her even more! The maroon color looks amazing on her and I love how elegant and classy she looks. Gucci is doing her miracles here. And if the dress wasn’t enough to blow you away, her hair in a messy braid ponytail definitely will!
-Niki Fleshner

Sinner:  Rita Ora
I have absolutely no idea what’s going on here! The mixture of the cheetah and peacock prints are definitely too much. SO unflattering, SO ugly, and I’m SO confused.

You Be The Judge: Who Had The Best Press Tour Style?

Above: Kate Upton, Cameron Diaz, and Leslie Mann
Kate Upton, Leslie Mann, and Cameron Diaz have sparked our interests. Lately these gals have been in the public eye, and we couldn’t help but notice each sporting unique styles while traveling for their press tour promoting the recent release “The Other Woman.” Each very different from the other, who showcased the best style? Kate? Leslie? Cameron?

Far left: Leslie in Oscar de la Renta Dress
Far right: Leslie in Monique Lhuillier Spring 2014 Bandeau and Ball Skirt set
Case 1:
I couldn’t help but notice Leslie’s statements for edgy yet feminine style. The outfits that I’ve seen her in while promoting the movie have stood out to me because not only are they on trend but also they’re choices that I could totally see myself wear as well. The pieces are fun, using different colors and fabrics to showcase her bubbly personality, and they’re wearable for everyday occasions.
- Danielle Gumina

Far left: Kate in Dolce and Gabbana
Far right: Kate in Saint Laurent (blouse & trouser)
Case 2:
Unlike Diaz and Mann, Kate Upton is brand new to the world of red carpets and press tours. At only 21 years of age, Upton’s choices for the tour were chic and sophisticated while maintaining a fresh and flirty twist. My personal favorite was a gray Dolce and Gabana piece. The dress was young but modern with glass beading and floral appliqué, showing that Upton was more than a swimsuit model. She paired her impeccable fashion choices with bold lip and eye makeup and classic hairdos. Upton’s definitely one to keep on our radar as an actress and a style icon in the near future.
- Dipsikha Roy

Far left: Cameron in a plunging-neckline black dress
Far right: Cameron in a The Row ‘Hentner’ dress

Case 3:
Cameron has been rocking the little black dress look while promoting this film. She looked amazing in a skin-tight The Row lambskin dress paired with nude Christian Louboutin shoes. While the dress did not show as much skin, it fit her perfectly and she owned the carpet! For the Los Angeles premiere, Cameron took the opposite approach and chose a more flowing dress with a dramatic plunging neckline. Girl knows how to make a statement! I love how comfortable Cameron is in her own skin and how she is able to make an age-old trend just as exciting as ever.

Style Star for February: Lupita Nyong'o

It is only fitting that Hollywood's newest It Girl is unanimously elected this month's Style Star. The beautiful Lupita Nyong'o has commanded the spotlight on every red carpet and we can't get enough of her. This breakout star has become an instant fashion icon with her desirably chic looks and sophisticated charm. Here are some of our favorite fashion moments:

In Veronica Beard at HPFA/InStyle Party
Lupita Nyong’o has truly perfected effortless elegance. I find jumpsuits terribly intimidating, but seeing her rock this Veronica Beard number at the TIFF HFPA/ InStyle party has me second-guessing everything. I love how the sexy contouring bodice is paired with a playful polka dot pump. She looks youthful and sophisticated from head to toe and I could not love this look more!

In Ralph Lauren at the Golden Globes
No round up of Lupita’s best looks would be complete without a nod to this stunning red caped number.  Capes are a risky move on the red carpet.  Not since Gwyneth’s white Tom Ford at the Oscars have we seen anyone pull off the look quite as well as Lupita.  It was a look that signified her arrival to the small group of Hollywood’s fashion envelope pushers and we couldn’t have been more excited to see someone willing to take a red carpet gamble.
 -- Lauren Stillman

In Gucci at the Screen Actors Guild Awards
Her teal Gucci gown from the SAG awards stands out to me as perfection. Not only did the bright color catch our attention against the various shades of navy and red seen on the red carpet, but her makeup was bold to match. Her blue eyeshadow perfectly complimented her brown eyes - a look not often seen in a sea of smokey or neutral red carpet looks. Her lips were finished with a pink-nude gloss, creating a look was subtle yet polished. With her ability to take risks and experiment with her look, there’s no doubt that Lupita will continue to frequent best-dressed lists in the near future.

In Calvin Klein at the Critics Choice Awards
My girl crush on Lupito Nyong’o started, much like everyone else’s -- the second I saw her red Ralph Lauren caped gown at the Golden Globes. When she stepped out in a white custom-made Calvin Klein gown just four days later at the Critics Choice Awards, she solidified her place as my best-dressed star of the month (and possibly of award season)! I love seeing looks with minimal jewelry that allow gowns to speak for themselves. This bandeau design allows Lupita to skip the necklace and bracelets and just wear simple earrings and a ring, the perfect way to let her natural beauty carry the look!
